有个朋友一家三口来墨尔本玩，小孩子刚刚5岁，我开车带他们出去玩，小孩子需要坐那种特殊的坐椅吗？还是绑好安全带就行！

It depends on her/ his weight not the age :
Based on the informationfrom Vic Road:

Combination seats - up to 6 years (26 kg)
Up to 18 kg - the harness is used in the seat (or until the straps are too tight over the shoulders)
From 18 – 26 kg - the restraint is used as a booster with a lap/sash seat belt until the child outgrows the restraint.

Please note: From 9 November 2009 there will be changes to the road safety rules. For more information visit New rules for using child restraints and booster seats.

Children aged between four years and under seven must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness OR an approved booster seat which is properly positioned and fastened.
