Junior Technical Writer
The Junior Technical Writer (JTW) has the overall responsibility and accountability to develop, maintain and issue crucial product documents, such as product manuals, how-to guides, website help sections, product bulletins, journal articles, and other content that distills technical information with ease and clarity.

The overall purpose of the role is to deliver on time documentation to effectively communicate the operation and functionality of products for successful release. This includes but not limited to the processing and creation of user manuals and product technical documents for internal and external customers.

You will be responsible for ensuring accurate representation of the product functionality and operating instructions through clear and easy to understand language that transforms and presents the information in a format that all stakeholders can easily understand.

ABOUT YOU...
You must have a sense of urgency with an ability to evaluate and analyse complex information and have a natural desire to help people understand things that are hard to understand. Your ability to clearly communicate to technical and non-technical audiences will secure you this job.

Exceptional communication skills with the ability to forge strong alliances with cross functional departments is an essential requirement of the role.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS...
Suitably qualified candidates with the following skills and experience should apply:
•        High attention to detail
•        Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
•        Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences
•        Superior written and verbal communication skills
•        High PC skills, high technical writing skills,
•        Collaborative team work experience & skills
•        Capability to communicate at all levels, with emphasis in setting high work standards and maintaining technical and professional knowledge.
•        Planning, organisation, strong problem solving, and analytical skills are essential
•        Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
•        The ability to negotiate and prioritise workloads to meet critical deadlines

HIGHLY REGARDED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (not essential but a definite advantage)
•        Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a relevant technical field
•        Formal background in publishing software such as InDesign, Acrobat Editor and Photoshop
•        Intermediate Computer literacy in Excel, Word and power Point and TurboCAD (or similar)
•        1-2 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer

The successful candidate will be supported in their development which will see them grow their skills and move in to more senior roles in the future.
