One day, while I was casual chatting with an acquaintance and we touched on business topic. I casually commented that maybe I should get an investor for my e-business. Then he said he knew someone who had invested in another e-business similar to mine. He said if necessary, he can introduce that person to me.

And so this has set me thinking on it further, as I have also wanted to expand my current business.

So there are a few questions on my mind that I wish some of you can help here or give me comment.

You see, my business is purely ecommerce. We mainly sell consumer products on ebay, website and other ecommerce revenue. Our takings is about 30~40,000 per month and we (me and my wife) work from home and net about 7~8000 per month before tax.
Our stock level is about 20~30,000AUD. Our sales have been growing every month except the recent ones, being affected by the economic crisis. We also started with a few thousand dollars capital.

We believe we can easily double our sales and net profit if we are able to add on more stock as we have our system all set up. We have been trading for two years and have become rather established. We have also won some internet award for our e-store.

We do hire a part-timer to assist but we can do without that (as now I am concentrating on another business as well).

So, based on the above and limited information, do you think it will interest any potential investor? And if so, what kind of investment money can we look at? Or put it another way, if you were an investor, how much would you invest in return of say, 50% share?

It is not just one stock but a range of stock.

I am sure that I could double the sales as I have great experience in that market, both overseas supply and domestic markets, and those stock are what I am familiar with.

We had managed more than 100% growth rate year-on-year through organic growth. Hence I am confident that with the ground work already laid properly, we could repeat that growth with less effort this time round. That is, if we get the right funding.

Anyway, in business, there's no 100% (even if you put money in your bank, there's no 100% guarantee now). However, I can only say that i am quietly confident despite current economic climate, although I do pity those traditional retail businesses.

Well, i'm looking for investment sum of 100~150K for an exchange of share 40~50% company share.

ROI will be about 2 years. Full business plan available.

Yes, i understand, and so i'm not seeking investment from anyone who doesn't know or interested about ecommerce.

Anyway, may I ask you or anyone here:

I was offered 50K investment but he wanted 30%, which i think was too high a percentage for me (as my business is experiencing high growth).

So i was thinking, if he wants that, i would need a share-buy-back agreement, which is to have the option for me to buy back the share at 160% of its original value anytime within the first year of investment and 200% anytime within the second year.

Do you think this is attractive enough?

Still curious about your business coz at this special moment, no one can be confident enough to double his sales in one year. That's risky.

And I don't think it's a good time for you to exchange your share for $50K investment, maybe you should hang onto it until a later good timing.
