Monday, 21 March 2016 01:03:24 PM
A search is underway for a man who failed to return home from a day’s fishing on the Central Coast at the weekend.
Police have been told a 40-year-old man was seen arriving at Snapper Point, in Lake Munmorah National Park, about 7pm Saturday (19 March 2016).
When a ranger found the man’s utility in the Snapper Point car park the following day, police from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command were alerted.
The rock platform at Snapper Point was searched, with some personal possessions belonging to the man were found.
A search was initiated and involved the Westpac Rescue Helicopter, local police and Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) members.
The search resumed at 8am (Monday 21 March 2016), involving Police Rescue, the VRA, SES, Police Dog Squad, the police airwing Polair, and Marine Area Command, along with local police.
The man has not been located and the search continues.
It’s not believed the man was wearing a life jacket; however, weather conditions have been heavy over the weekend. |
