Job Description
PURPOSE:  To serve the consumer and the Association by servicing meter and line equipment in a timely, efficient manner. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1.  Cleans, repairs, tests, and calibrates meters and AMR equipment.2.  Screens and tests insulating oils for dielectric and PCB contamination levels.3.  Keeps accurate service calibration, and material records.4.  Recommends orders of new meters, meter parts, test equipment and other necessary repair parts.5.  Performs a variety of other test and maintenance tasks including reading of substation meters and changing of recording charts.6.  Assists with wiring instrument transformers on three-phase metering installations.7.  Services and repairs regulators, breakers, reclosers, sectionalizers, switches and controls.8.  Uses computer for data storage and analysis.9.  Performs all work according to federal and State regulations and PVREA and CREA safety manuals.10.  Uses basic verbal and writing skills to communicate with other workers and to complete and submit required paperwork.11.  Assists Metering and Line Equipment Technicians with various other related tasks as assigned.12.  Assist Engineering Representatives with various staking, computer input, and consumer related activities.13.  Assists in the emergency restoration of facilities during storm or general outages.14.  Works according to the safety rules and company policies, as adopted by Poudre Valley REA.  Is responsible for own safety and reports all accidents in accordance with Association policy.15.  Other duties in his or her scope of abilities as assigned.  MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED:  Watt-hour meter test boards, OCR test boards, a wide variety of hand tools, forklift, pick-up truck, volt meters and amp meters, PCB test equipment, oil handling equipment, transit, and measuring devices. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge, Skill and Ability:  The assistant technician should possess the mental and physical dexterity (see “Working Environment/Mental & Physical Activities” below) to perform this type of work. Education or Formal Training:  High school education or GED, a valid Colorado Driver’s License, and First-Aid/CPR certification (must be obtain within 90 days of hiring). Experience:  Have a beginning knowledge of metering and line equipment.  Experience with mechanical and electrical tools and equipment (see section “Material and Equipment Used) would be helpful. Physical:  Upon receipt of a job offer, candidate must pass a physical examination (which may include a WorkStep physical) that verifies there is no physical reason that he or she cannot perform the essential functions of the job under the working conditions described.  Drug/Alcohol:  A drug/alcohol test is administered to all job offer recipients, as well as a background check.   Mental Demands:  This employee must be able to work well with the public, Association members, and other Association employees.  He/she needs to be able to remember what was done and schedule and prioritize future work, stay alert even when the work is repetitious, and work well with detail.  He/she must be able to learn new procedures and equipment, and demonstrate flexibility in all areas.  The job may occasionally require ingenuity, problem solving, analytic ability, auditory discrimination, writing ability and imagination.  This job can be stressful at times; however, composer must be maintained at all times with consumers and co-workers.   WORKING ENVIRONMENT/MENTAL & PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:1.  Must meet essential functions of the position including, the requirements of the WorkStep physical. 2.  40% of the time is spent standing, 40% walking and another 20% sitting.3.  Frequent lifting and carrying (up to 100 pounds) are done.  When putting transformers or other equipment in place, technicians must frequently push and pull up to 150 pounds.4.  Operating controls is done occasionally when driving a vehicle and operating the forklift.5.  Occasionally, the technician must climb ladders and hills to reach areas where work must be done.  Balancing is constantly necessary when walking, standing, and climbing.6.  Assistant technicians must frequently stoop, kneel, and crouch, and occasionally crawl.  When testing meters, they must reach and have good tactile perception.7.  Talking is necessary when communicating with other employees or consumers, or persons over the radio. Hearing ordinary conversation is necessary under the same circumstances.8.  Good close-range vision (reading and testing meters) and long-range vision (locating work areas) is constantly necessary.  Depth perception is important and color vision is important to match meter wires and follow diagrams.  Field of vision and eye accommodation are frequently necessary.9.  Due to the detail involved in the job, technicians must constantly be alert and precise.  It is important that they have good memory, concentration, judgment and reasoning. WORKING CONDITIONS:  One-third of the time is spend outdoors and two-thirds indoors at the shop.  The noise level can reach 70-90 decibels.  While working outdoors and in the shop, the technician must occasionally work with fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gasses.  When working in the shop, s/he is frequently confronted with poor ventilation.  Frequently, technicians have to work around mechanical and electrical hazards and toxic chemicals.  When exposed to the elements outdoors, they may occasionally be susceptible to wind and sunburns.

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Electric & Instrument Supervisor, the Electric & Instrument Technician maintains and repairs all electrical and instrumentation control systems within the power plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  Completes all tasks assigned by the Electric & Instrument Supervisor, in a timely and accurate manner.  Maintains, repairs, installs and troubleshoots electrical equipment, including conduit, wiring, electric motors, plant lighting and motor operated valves.  Maintains, repairs, installs and troubleshoots instrumentation and control equipment, including current/pressure transducers, DCS systems, power supplies and transmitters used in flow, pressure and level controls.  Repairs and calibrates test equipment and recommends additional test equipment and tools necessary to accurately perform these assignments.  Attends on and off-site safety and technical training as required to maintain the safety, reliability and availability of the plant.  Uses a systematic approach to test, calibrate and repair electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment.  Performs preventive maintenance on plant electrical and control systems and assists in developing preventive maintenance procedures.  Learns and uses computer systems, electrical codes, and testing procedures as applied to an operating power plant.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors required.


Education and Experience: Entry level requires graduation from an academically recognized electronic, electrical, or instrumentation technical school with a minimum one year program and two years of directly related working experience.  Related experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively with other employees.


Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to solve basic equations.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Computer Skills: Ability to use a personal computer to research and configure controls systems, work in the Maintenance Management System, plant emission system and Microsoft Office software as required.

你难道不知道新东方好几个老师都是YALE大学的MBA毕业的。

同等比,如果是就职,也许国内的民企给更多的薪水。

美国MBA毕业,如果是中国人,也不如本地人好就业,语言,文化,再加上美国MBA办很多年了,不能简单地比较把。

其实不用比那么多,就是8万起薪在美国的水平.

既然要在那个国家就在那个国家比较,你要留在美国就和留在美国的人比!  专业来说,MBA的一般起薪是不管你是不是LOCAL的数字,总还是相对其他专业高些的!否则也枉费了号称百万的投入!这和办多少年没有关系吧!

竞争力不一样。

MBA起薪8万对中国人有点难,我前室友的老婆去美国读MBA,因为不好就业转到MIS,硕士2年读出来起薪才3万,在佛州!

我最近一直在关注美国的就业市场,反馈的信息是美国专业工作收入不比澳洲高,但美国物价便宜。

还有谁在关注美国的就业信息?

如果我是搞IT,马上就去美国。但遗憾啊,本人工程师。

我不知道你说的ROOMMATE的LP读的是什么学校,我这些年一直关注美国MBA的就业情况,也和学校保持着联系!

我的准确的消息是07年排名40多的MBA(在HOUSTON) 全部就业率是97%,国际学生是99%,起薪是8万.今年受到次贷风波的影响截止7月底同一所学校的全部就业率是87%,国际学生是68%,国际学生的问题就是身份问题而不是专业问题!

我也一直关注美国的就业,即使我不是很喜欢去哪里生活!
