With strip footing on a slope (the concrete slab has a step, like a stair), which option would be better?
1. A higher step of 60cm height. In this case, we need less fill on the low side of the block (only need to fill 40cm of soil).
2. A lower step of 30cm, which requires 70cm fill instead
Which case has a higher chance to present some kind of problems in the future?
The footing sitting on a ground that is fill with 40cm of soil is better than one that is filled with 70cm of soil right? At least the ground is more stable and would cost less to implement?
At the same time, I assume that a smaller step of 30cm height is better than 60cm height? Since we can't have both, which option would you rather take?
