Thank you for your explanation and drag the description in the user's manual.
“Sea water contains salt, which generally accelerates corrosion of both ferrous and nonferrous materials. wind born spray from the sea can distribute salt for a distance of up to 20 km from the shore line with prevailing onshore winds, although the effect is generally worse within 2 km of the shore. Salt spray covers roads, and may be passed to your vehicle as dust, or as salt spray after rain. For this reason it is important to wash all the vehicle including the underside (not forgetting the engine bay and engine bay components). See section entitled “Engine compartment” for recommended cleaning practices. Ensure you request your authorised MITSUBISHI MOTORS dealer to conduct the scheduled Preventative Maintenance corrosion inspection if you live within 20 km of the sea.”
Your explanation was based on the excuse above. Please clarify what does it mean for "all the vehicle including the underside" exactly for washing parts?
Do the users need to detach all the screws, bolts, nuts, gaskets, shafts, assembles, tubes, lines, windows, doors and components and wash with purified water/ or with the chlorides acid or other chemicals to remove the salt dust from the particular components, Once washed, then reassembly again back to achieve the design function/instruction. or how should be vehicle be washed?
If there is the case, I think MMAL should clearly clarify this in engineering language rather than an ambiguous description.
I have to let you take a look at the enclosed photos. the rail for the windows inside the door has fully rusted at the bottom and lost 100% to 50% section, these areas won't be able to be detached and washed as common sense. Did you ask users to undo the bolts and take the vehicles into parts to wash them and then reassemble them back?
Please refer to the enclosed photos and take a look, which shows the heavy corrosion for the door frame and window rail. I think we may detach more parts and see what corrosion/condition behind particularly components which is not able to be washed as normal flushing. and then lets qualified engineers involved to see if they are manufacturer defects.
