Thanks so much for your comments!
People will only fully understand if they have been there. 8kg a day really has nothing to be proud of. However, I am so proud that I have two good baristas and they know how and willing to do as experts. So as my chef and sandwich makers. My chef even went to Springvale by himself to buy some special spices on weekends.
Because of them, I can be the last one walking into the shop and the first one leaving it. I admire everyone if they work hard. They respect me because they know that the boss respects their works. Sometimes if I found out the tips were not many, I put $100 by myself. this money means more to them rather than to me, it saids "you guys have done a wonderful work this week. Well done. You should have more tips"
We are using the same method. You gave your staffs enough space and freedom by trust. They can feel how important and valuable they are and how much you trust them. We too. My job inside the shop is jumping out the crowd and watching, thinking like a customer. Customer experience makes me adjust so many details in a very short time. When you are too busy doing customer service, you may ignore the details which may hurt customers' feeling. Roma is not built in one day. One step at a time. The more details you make them right, the better customer experience you will get. Customers may not notice those details, but they can feel it as a whole picture.
As a business man, it is essential to be honest. Especially in Australia. The business in this country is based on trust. You can cheat once, but you won't have a second chance from the same person ever again. You wanna go further, you better don't treat others like fool. The only person you can cheat on is the one who trusted you.
