At the very start of my high school, my year 7 Maths teacher gave my class some very good advice: the best way to make sure that you fully understand something is to teach it to someone else. I never forgot that, but I never fully appreciated its meaning until these past few years. So if someone needs your help, you should do your best to help them, because it helps you, too.

I didn't really have to make any dramatic changes. Homework and study weren't new to me, so it was only a matter of putting in a few more hours each week and getting used to the regular onslaught of SACs. For me, the scariest part was the concept of 'no second chances'. This was it: the end of 13 years of school. Time to make it count.

I never would have survived this journey without my friends, who were always there beside me. And then there were the teachers, whose hard work and commitment I could never do justice in words. Truly, I met some wonderful people at this school, and that's worth more than any ATAR or study score.

Ultimately, the most precious resource any of us have is time. Use it wisely. That's not to say that you should be studying every second of every day. I never kept track of how many hours I did each night; it was always just about keeping up to date with homework and understanding the concepts covered in class. As long as you work consistently and practise good study habits, the workload shouldn't be a problem. At the end of the day, there is no secret formula that will work for everyone. Personally, I was most efficient studying alone at home in the middle of  the night while watching TV, whereas many of my friends preferred to meet up in groups at the library. You just have to find the approach that suits you best.

From  the beginning of the September holidays until my last exam, my life was consumed with practice exams, to the point where I felt like I had written out the same definitions and applied the same formulae at least a dozen times and I just wanted to do the actual exam. During this time, I made countless visits to the VCAA website, skimming through the study designs for each of my subjects, printing off every relevant past exam, and reading each and every word of the assessor's reports.

There were times during the year when I had to make sacrifices, such as seeing less of friends outside of school, not buying the new Pokemon game when it was released, and putting off reading The Hunger Games trilogy until after exams (well worth the wait, might I add). I also deactivated my Facebook account at the start of Year 11, but that really wasn't a sacrifice.

It's important to make memories that you can look back on in the future. In fact, upon realising that  I had less than a year left of high school, I began carrying a camera around with me every day in my pocket. I took more photos during those ordinary school days--of the spot where I ate lunch, of the inside of my locker, of a friend reading a book in the library---than at all those fancy school functions, like Formal and Valedictory Dinner. Not to say that those special events weren't amazing, but, to quote an episode of the Simpsons, "it's the little things that make up life." It may be hard to appreciate at the time, but those little in-between moments are perhaps the most precious. I will forever treasure those memories, always.

我记得我家老大小时候卖的第一幅画挣了30刀，可激动了，弄了一个镜框还挂起来，你家女儿这个荣誉是大了去了

压根没想到会得到这个东东，她也非常激动。
不过女儿好像还挺关心政府的财政状况，她说现在政府这么困难，都财政赤字，为啥还浪费这个钱。

这怎么是浪费呢？给其它孩子多大的激励呀，名利双收的，这帮孩子一发狠，都跟你女儿似的，考进考分专业，将来给国家哗哗地缴税。政府花小钱挣大钱，比花在船民身上收益率高多了

哈哈，女儿觉得有荣誉就足够啦，钱还是用在帮助那些特别困难的人身上。
