Position No. 14/03
Salary range: $83,962 - $92,940 pa – Total Remuneration Package up to $102,559 pa (Package includes salary, employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)
Role: The Data Analyst provides data analysis and reporting capabilities within the Systemic Reviews Unit. The position has responsibility for assisting with acquiring, cleansing, storing and extracting for analysis, data collected whilst reviewing the deaths of children and people with disabilities in care within NSW. Highly developed technical skills in data maintenance and analysis, including visualisation and report generation, are critical for successfully carrying out the duties of this role.
Selection criteria:
Advanced skills in Microsoft T-SQL (or other SQL variant e.g. Oracle), with at least 3 years experience in the development of data manipulation, analysis and reporting queries, including data transformation (ETL) package such as Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services
Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel and Access
Intermediate skills developing charts, graphs and other types of data visualisation using a data presentation and reporting package
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and capacity to relay complex information in plain English
Demonstrated experience evaluating, cleansing, remediating and maintaining the quality of data stored within operational systems
Demonstrated experience in the consolidation of multiple internally maintained and externally available data sets to facilitate deeper analysis
Capacity for creative problem solving, and ability to take ownership of requirements and problems and work independently to develop solutions
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant specialisation such as statistics, computer science or information technology, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
