New South Wales, AUSTRALIA
1. Jervis Bay by boat (east of Canberra)
2. Hawkesbury River System (north of Sydney)
i. Cowan Creek Arm
Jerusalem Bay
Yeomans Bay
Bobbin Head Wharf and surrounds
ii. Pittwater Arm
Palm Beach Jetty and the surrounding kelp beds
Flats behind Palm Beach along the western shore between Coasters Retreat & Longnose Point in close to the rocks
Around the western side of Barrenjoey Head
Bayview boat ramp
Lovett Bay near the sand bar
Morning Bay near the public wharf
Scotland Island near Tennis Court Wharf, Carols Wharf and near the red channel marker at the northern end of the island.
3. Port Jackson (Sydney)
Balmoral Jetty, Middle Harbour
The kelp beds around Middle Head and North Harbour
South Head near bommie on inside of harbour. Close to Macquarie lighthouse.
Lady Bay Beach kelp beds near beach extending to South Head.
Cobblers Beach near rocks in the bay there is kelp beds in close. Summer spot.
Dobryd Reef - you must only fish this spot in calm conditions as easterly swell breaks on the reef. Fish for squid near Dobryd Head at inside cardinal marker.
4. Botany Bay (south of Sydney)
Just off Bare Island there is a bommie and if the weather is calm you can catch some pretty big squid if you anchor over the top of the 'bommie' or just up tide as the tide flows, and allow you bait/jig to drift back to the 'bommie'
5. Bateman's Bay to Broulee (east of Canberra)
Produce good quantities of squid from the rocks generally from Feb to June each year.
