This course is for people who wish to work in areas of international trade
as importing and exporting, international freight forwarding, customs
broking, and the government regulatory areas of customs and quarantine.

In this course you will learn about import/export documentation, border
clearance functions, GST, basic valuation, basic classification, and basic
quarantine procedures. This learning will take place by a combination of
strategies that include practical activities, industry case studies, role
plays, simulations, operating both individually and in teams, and projects.

Completion of both "Customs Broking I" (Course number 9457) and "Customs
Broking II (Course number 9145) is a pre requisite to sitting for the
Australian Customs Service's National Customs Broking Licencing Exam.
Career Opportunities
Customs broker, freight forwarder, cargo manager, operations manager, quarantine
inspector.

Note: On completion of this course and the Trade Facilitation - Customs Broking
II Statement of Attainment 9145 plus a national exam and additional practice in
the workplace, you may apply to become a licensed customs broker.


Articulation
When you finish this course you can enrol in the Trade Facilitation - Customs
Broking II Statement of Attainment 9145.

Entry Requirements
NSW Higher School Certificate (or equivalent).

正在徘徊中，此文让我多了一个选择的机会。。
在国内从报关员开始做到物流经理，到了这里不知道该做什么，在澳要做到管理层似乎是一件很难的事，而做其他职位又无法有机会高薪。
现在看来CUSTOMS BROKER似乎是一个不错的选择。
无论最后是否选择此职业，都谢谢LZ了。
请问一下楼主：
TAFE的课程你认为是很有必要读的么？
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOM BRODER EXAM一般什么时候报名？需要什么条件？
这里的考试和国内的考试有什么不同？
在国内考试有三个部分：
一、基本知识（进出口通关、进出口贸易知识及相关政策）
二、报关单据填写。
三、HS CODE归类查询。

我在国内属于很有经验的报关员，在做物流经理的时候手下有两个报关员，在她们不能处理的时候我也经常处理关务事宜，对HS CODE归类也比较有经验。
这种情况有可能在这里找一个比较低级的类似职位么？

应该可以找到类似工作，如果有证书和本地工作经验会更好点。

帮FIGHTING回答一下,那个NATIONAL EXAM报考有条件的,就是你必须FINISH TAFE的那个课程(FIGHTING贴的内容很详细了),如果不上那个,也可以上CBFCA的ONLINE 课程,详细HTTP://www.cbfca.com.au.必须有两个中间的一个CERTIFICATE才可以去报考.

今年的NATIONAL EXAM是4月份,(我忘记是一年两次还是一次了),已经过了报名的时候了.

还有,这个NATIONAL EXAM的通过率很低,好像近年只有31%.

原来有个同事也是国内的Customs Broker,她也必须念tafe (澳洲的customs law and Quarantine应该和国内的有较大区别），不过她念完tafe,一次性就过了national exam.

Smile,对你来说，念这个课程肯定很容易，因为最难的部分(tariff)你已经很熟悉。

我想对于你来说找工作应该很容易，找找相关的中介，（你最好找Customs Compiler/Classifier）的工作，到时候有直接相关的工作经验加上通过national exam,你就可以成为这里的broker.

不过我觉得你的简历上先不要放上你在国内物流经理的职位，要不然给人overqualified的感觉。

This examination is sat under strict exam conditions and is designed to assess the skills of an intending broker as if he or she was in their office handling documents and dealing with the typical complex range of issues that confront a broker on a daily basis. The examination is a 3-hour, open book format examination and carries a 70% pass mark.

As the Examination is open book, candidates may bring in to the examination room laptop computers, hard copy Tariff or any notes as required to assist them in the Examination.

Additional Information for the National Examination  

3.5 hour open book exam, 100 marks, 2.1 minutes per mark

As a GUIDE to candidates, the following is the general range of topics and marks allocated per topic in any NXAM. It is not a binding format however and is subject to change.

1.      Classification, one or two questions, total 15 - 20 marks with an average maximum of 15 marks per question. At least one question will include a complex classification and may include consideration of the classification of functional units and/or parts and accessories. The citing of authorities is a requirement in every classification question and they must be correctly cited for marks to be awarded.

2.      Valuation, one or two questions, total 15 – 20 marks with a maximum of 15 marks per question. One question will include complex considerations of matters such as assists and the determination of the “price” in the “import sales transaction”. The citing of authorities is a requirement in every question and they must be correctly cited for marks to be awarded.

3.      GST, 5 - 10 marks. The calculation of GST may be incorporated in the valuation question above.

我国内做过报关员，比较喜欢贸易，出来读书时候选的NEWCASTLE大学的国际商务，本以为会学到许多国际贸易知识，但是狗屁，就是一些肤浅的大综合，会计，金融，市场营销，偶尔看到这个帖子，并且亲自去ST GEORGE学校去咨询这个课程，发现很喜欢，因为现代国际贸易西方社会研究的比较透彻，学会了也是一手资料，各种单证都会学习（英文）~~~~`但是一个大雷把我打了回来，我不是PR不让我报名学，网络授课形式 不是FACE TO FACE比喜欢，悉尼就ST GEORGE一所学校教这个CBFCA课程吗，大家有方法指点迷津吗。

我原来同事来自SCOTLAND，也不是PR，选择了网络课程（学费和PR的差不多）比念TAFE(非PR很贵）便宜很多。可以考虑一下。这个课程学的都是实际工作用到的。

悉尼就STGEORGE才有。

这次和我一起通过考试的同学（台湾）49岁，45开始进入这个行业。她还是3个二十几岁女孩的妈妈。

另外和我一起上TAFE的一个鬼佬估计在这个行业比较久了，看起来有50岁左右，一次就过国家考试，过了几个月就找到Broker的职位。

所以，sunnybaobao放心，年龄决不是个问题。

当然还有一些人太年轻，高中毕业就TAFE，TAFE 毕业通过国家考试，二十出头就是broker.我一同事二十四，broker四年了。

我在2002年下半年报名的时候没有相关工作经验， 之前也不是学这行的，那时候学的人少。所以也报上了。现在报的人多，可能条件好的优先录取。不过具体到tafe问一下应该会有帮助。

7块钱一个学时，总共学下来大概3500，不算书费等其他费用。不过昨天看到有筒子说涨到10块一个小时了，不太清楚，可以自己打电话到holmesglen去问。

其实现在很多旅行社还是招导游的。尤其是免税店，导游大大的要，反正他们也不给基本工资，全靠免税店那提成。悉尼一个最牛的女导游（免税店的），2006年一年拿了近20万刀的提成。。。所以，你还是可以找找看的
