我猜ATO 现在可能有一个比例标准,多少利息的房子,房租收入可能是在多少范围。而你可能报的利息包括了自住房的贷款利息所以报高了,同时房租收入也报的偏低。

he rented the property to his relatives and friends and charge 1000/month (5 rooms total) and claimed all water, elec, gas,phone bills ...
he provided all documents (eg: state rental contract, tendent passport certified copy, bank transactions. bill invoices)
ATO decision: rental income lower than MKT price, so ATO ignore all bills deduction except interest and council rate deduction and adjust
rental income to MKT price of (500/room/month *5room *12Month ) $30000..
Also, ATO will put him into watching list for 5 years due to this is a serious fraud and he will be auto audit for the following years.
luckily, He do not have business.otherwise, more worse.
guess what: he told me he just pay his previously accountant $120 for 2011 tax return. and now his previously accountant want to charge
extra $400 for communicating with ATO but did not change any result..
终于到家了。。可以中文了。。接上面话题。。我朋友找我。问我们firm 能不能帮他argue。。我说我们收费160/hr。。不保证能成功。。估计耗时10个小时左右。
他咬牙说可以。。结果我问了我们的manager。。他拒绝了。。说让他找以前的accountant 去。。说我们不收这种dodgy客户。。
