纠结在monash和Mel uni之间

话说大学牌子在求职中其实没有什么大差，一般招聘，毕业学校的名头并不是太重要，有的时候还没有中学重要。而真正说到底看中的还是个人能力和在校成绩GPA。

Unimelb和Monash都是Group 8的一流学校，其实也没有什么大差。只在专业上各有千秋，而且所谓的强弱差别也只是科研实力上的差别，对于上上大课考考试的bachelor这种，影响微乎其微。

所以没必要太顾及学校的牌子，专业优先。带孩子去各个学校的open day看看走走，选个感觉好的就可以了。

是啊，谈到这里连读这工科的Master似乎就不一定有advantage
LZ估计现在纠结的就是孩子想读的专业是否很明确，若是的话2校的差别有多大？若不明确的话也许墨大更好？

也许有懂行的朋友给些建议

你说的海外留学生master毕业找不到工作，倒不是因为他们读的Master学位让他们找不到工作。而是因为不适应澳洲这个社会氛围而造成的。

我是过来人应该觉得比较有发言权，大部分master毕业的都会是所谓的三无，无英语（刚来两年，不适应社会），无pr（有工作，才有pr，相反，没有pr你找不到工作），无工作经验（fresh graduate上哪来工作经验呢），反而这三无确实他们找工作的最大障碍，因为这都是蛋生鸡鸡生蛋。

相反对于从小在这里长大的孩子们以上三条完全没有障碍，反而会是优势（无工作经验除外），但是他们会是这边graduate program中的佼佼者。另外，我没有发现graduate program中指明不可以让master申请

但若我是engineer 公司的老板,面对刚毕业的都是本地人的Bachelor和Master申请者，我会挑Bachelor，因不但工资付出低些，我会想，干嘛一直读那么多书呢，会不会是找不到工呢...，何况我凭什么付高工资给一个无经验的毕业生呢

各个大学每年都会有一次career expo，就是大公司过来打广告招毕业生，里面大部分都是针对undergrad的。

专业很重要。

比如墨大的IT相关专业，以前根本不行，后来搞不下去了被并入了Engineering。直到墨大把RMIT的做搜索引擎的大牛Justin挖来以后才好一些，不过整体实力还是不行。墨大的IT的毕业生，动手能力相对不强，Industry也不太认的。

再比如墨大Engineering的EE，我在里面待过不少年，从学生一直到Research Fellow做研究当tutor教学生，里面一半的老师都认识的。EE的综合实力还是可以的，但是里面有些专业前景也不太妙，比如Photonics，CUBIN倒了，NICTA也撤资了。

比如现在比较热门的Bio- 技术，如Biomedicine这类，墨大和Monash都很积极的在搞，墨大有Bio21，莫纳什有Monash Biomedical Imaging （就是刚刚获得2000万政府资助成为ARC国立研究中心的那个），这两个方面，双方实力骑虎相当，上哪个学校相关专业都没大差的。

我以前去过不少次。如果有机会参加的话，你可以当面问问那些公司，是不是很多主要是面对undergrad的，或者undergrad被录用的机会更大一些？

我现在公司，graduate program没有说只要本科生，但实际上差不多就是的。尤其是H1的Honour Bachelor是最抢手的。学校差别，你说Unimelb和CQU，可能会有些差别，Unimelb和Monash，基本没什么差别。GPA平均C的Melb U的毕业生和平均D的Monash的毕业生，后者的机会更大，当然还要看面试表现啥的。

如果 U Mel没有改革之前，你的说法是实际的，

但是 以U Mel 现在的model，本科出来，就是没专业知识的，大部分人都得上 master 去学专业。

相信 各行业，各公司也了解这个形式，也会给 U Mel 硕士毕业生同等的就业机会的

不清楚你是哪个公司的，但是至少我知道

会计big4，银行big4，几个投行，Google，Oracle，REA，Carsales，Coles，woolworths，VicRoad，英美烟草，联邦政府的几个部门

当然还有一些中小的公司了，我就不一一列举了

以上我说的肯定是master毕业可以申请

当时我和这些朋友总结出来的一个共同经验就是没有PR真难啊，英语太需要提高啊，没有一个人说我应该不读master而读bachelor

这是事实，一点没夸张

希望如此吧，我们这反应还没那么快，还没有调整。因为Bachelor和Master毕业生，起薪是不一样的，这个澳洲有规定的。

我就是一个后悔终生的例子， 当初墨大和MONASH都给了OFFER，我选择了MONASH， 现在后悔啊，墨尔本大学是门槛高， 进入后就不会压制你， MONASH 据说为了挣钱总是让学生FAIL 功课， 虽然我没有不及格过，但是基本我认识的同学都有一门两门不及格重学过。

其次工作后，我发现老板对墨尔本大学毕业的比对MONASH毕业的要器重， 我刚出校门去一家公司，精算等高端工作都给了墨大的毕业生， 给我都是打杂的活

所以我强烈推荐墨大! 是我心里最遗憾的一页，将来孩子大了，我真会回去学个MBA什么的，有个墨尔本大学毕业证

没说不可以申请阿，PhD graduate也没有明的被graduate program拒绝阿，但实际呢。我谈的是竞争力和把握性。

嗯 100%确定 因为过了1年， 我就遥遥领先那个墨大毕业生了~~ 但是刚开始，老板就是放重头在墨大学生上， 呵呵， 我现在招人也是如此啊， 喜欢墨大的毕业生。看到简历，一看是墨大毕业的， 马上就感觉精神一振， 一定要面试看看。
