其实连‘欧美’的标准都不够,我说的是‘英美’。
看看他们整天读的书,有几本不是出自英美作家的手笔? ...
do you know a book called 'anno's mysterious multiplying jar'? the book is popularly used for math lesson in English speaking countries. the author is a Japanese.
I think what I know the 'famous' will be quite different from what kids here know. What I think 'great' will be different from what kids here think.
Of course, some classic literatures will be always appreciated and I believe many kids here know them better than me but with different opinions.
p.s. my 6 years old son has read books with authors from more countries than what I knew in his age.
what I want to say is that if you want to read a book, you can always find it somewhere here (yes, you can even find 'A Dream of Red Mansions‘ in certain libraries).I wouldn't easily put a judgement as 'limited' and 'shallow' to their understanding of this world. |
