Lately, the NSW Government has introduced the "Equity Placement Model" post the 2022 Selective Test date, which causes huge concerns and negtive feedbacks from both students and parents.

To be a fair and scientific selection system, all the selection criteria must be clearly published and well explained prior to test registration, which will allow candidates sufficient time to consider whether they will register for the test and how they put effort in the preparation.

Further, in the new model, the Performance Report will not provide an individual's test scores or placement rank. I have been working in the University's admissions department for more than 10 years. Eacy year, the university decides the student's entry upon each state NSW UAC, VIC VTAC, SA STAC, QLD QTAC's ranking. The students not only have their bands in each test, and also the score and overall rank (ATAR) indicating their position. The students, who may be entitled the bonus points, will also have the clear scheme advised and published by the University, such as residential region.

The Review of Selective Education Access Findings and Action Plan was read. However, the questions cannot be addressed. Without test scores or placement rank, how NSW Education will explain 2 students in the same band but with total different High School placement outcome? Without detailed equity scheme, how NSW Education will identify which disadvantaged candidate is more gifted and should be selected than the other disadvantaged candidate?

The transprancy is the key to fairness and justice. I strongly disagree the change with very short notice after test date. "

感觉政府这么搞会把顶精搞惨，这些学校除了优质生源外几乎没有任何特殊的地方，这生源搞残了，那就是普通公校啊，别说只有20%，其他80%的家长未必愿意继续考这些学校了，当大家都这么想的时候，这就是普通公校了，所以可以理解成这就是很温和的取消顶精的政策了

官腔回复是大概率，邮件多了，那些领头家长能得到跟他们第二次对话的机会就大一些。
听说对话了一次，也是官腔，没几分钟就把家长打发了，说是太忙。
现在领头家长要求第二次对话/开会。教育部说是否给机会，要看收到的相关邮件的数量。

上面是也是我听说的，具体细节不知道。就是号召大家继续发邮件，邮件数量的先上去。
其实我们群众所能做的，也就了解政策是怎么一回事以后，刚好自己也是不支持的态度的，那也就是发个邮件支持一下那些去实际行动的家长了。

2022 is a hard year for the school ages. The covid, the flood, the war and the inflation, the kids feel everything. And now your government has made it even harder. The department of education has made a big mess in the selective school test. You must take in consideration the thoughts and feelings of the people who are affected by this change. It is not something that the government should just dictate. The minister for education, who is responsible for that, should resign.

好像教育部对大家邮件的回复，都是官话。看来教育部长是铁了心要横到底了。
受Jungle同学的成功的启发，那咱们，不管是是不是州长选区的，也给州长选区办公室发邮件？？？刺激新州自由党去约谈他们的联盟党？？？把已经发给教育部的邮件，再发到州长办公室邮箱里？？？

这是我看到Epping选区的一个家长发给州长办公室(epping@parliament.nsw.gov.au)的邮件（也是上面节选段的出处）：



Hi, Mr. Perrottet,

I am a resident in the Epping electoral district.

The government's decision to allocate 20% of selective school places to a special group of people is unfair and unacceptable. There are many reasons why it should not be put in place.

First of all, this policy was delivered so much behind schedule. The government shouldn't make such major changes at the last minute. This will only show that the department of education lacks the ability to plan for events in the future as well as neglecting public opinion. Students who are affected by this government policy change may have spent years of effort to prepare for the test, but as the results are returned and before the hard work pays off, the government decides to put in place a plan that could potentially take this chance away from them. It's the same as trying to buy a concert ticket and right before it's your turn, your ticket is handed to the person after you, just skipping your turn. Would you accept that? The government's policy change is the same thing. Epping residents like me, won't accept that.

Secondly, the decision to reserve 20% of selective school places to certain groups of people is not fair. Getting into a selective school is not because of money, or social class. It's about accumulation of knowledge, focusing and effort. As a father, I hope you understand how unfair this is. And I hope you agree that your children's success is not because of your wealth or influence.

I agree that disadvantaged families need help. When one family needs food, we help them with food, but not by taking it from another family who also needs that. When a child can not afford education, we help her by paying the fee for her, not by telling other children to stop studying. If the government really wants to help, please do the following things: buy ballet shoes for children who like dancing but can't afford it, pay the fees for little basketball talents whose families struggle financially, and provide free coaching for poor students who want to improve their math.

州长办公室回复说，在等更多的邮件。
更多，我的理解就是鼓励大家发邮件给他们，数量达到他们满意了，他们才会为此move一下。

如果他们能答应跟家长代表开会，家长代表就可以当面跟他们决策层辩论。
我们就助攻，把气焰顶上去，不然那些家长得不到教育部的那高傲的一瞥。

和她们现在正在做的，不是背道而驰吗？她们怎么解释她们的自相矛盾呢？

不是所以家长和孩子都觉得难了。那受益的20%,可以说教育部给了他们希望。希望教育部改革的步子能迈的更大。

那所谓受益的20%，提前知道这个政策吗？

那被录取上的受益的20%，是真的符合了标准的弱势吗？如何监督教育部真的把这20%给了新定义的那群弱势群体，而不是给了在成绩上弱势的姓氏？这么大的一个考试，连考生的具体考试分数都被模糊掉了，这个新政策的执行，靠教育部的自觉和自我监督吗？还不如一个笑话实在靠谱呢。

非华人，孩子有点潜力的，学校老师评价不错的 ，有意愿申请精英中学的，都有可能在这20% 里面。
现在华人孩子，只要顶着华人的姓，就算真的没补习，都没人信了，华人孩子送补习，早就成为华人的标签，洗都洗不掉了。
