这故事的段落分的太长了，俺对其中的人物开始有点晕了。请版主指点迷津。

But I seldom thought about my own childhood, as it was no time to do so. Life here was busy.

最近读了一本小故事书，原文我陆续抄写到这里，原文按顺序编上了号，其它的，就是我自己瞎发感慨了。借机会练习一下，主要是模仿。

哦了。
看到grandpa有了daughtor，接着联想到这daughtor是否后来又跑去了中国，然后就有了一个不太老也不太年青的lady，又跑到了澳洲。
在俺的瞎想象中，剧情越弄的越复杂了。
经版主这么说明，知道了，He就是he，I就是i。不敢再胡想了。

When I was a small boy, my favourite weekend was a visit to my grandfather's house. He told me many stories about California.

He raised warblers and silvereyes, but he could not forget the mountains and rivers of California. So he planned a trip.
But a war began. Bombs fell from the sky and scattered our lives like leaves in a storm.

When the war ended, there was nothing left of the city and of the house where my grandparents had lived.
So they returned to the village where they had been children. But my grandfather never kept another songbird.

The last time I saw him, my grandfather said that he longer to see California one more time. He never did.

And when I was nearly grown, I left home and went to see California. After a time, I came to love the land my grandfather had loved, and I stayed on and on until I had a daughter of my own.

But I also miss the mountains and rivers of my childhood. I miss my old friends. So I return now and then, when I can not still longing in my heart.

The funny thing is the moment I am in one country, I am homesick for the other. I think I know my grandfather now.
I miss him very much.

俺也稍被触动，仅因为最后一句：
the moment I am in one country, I am homesick for the other.
所谓故土呀，主人公的在两面呆的时间更长，更感其中滋味。

想说说故事用词很简单的一面，为什么俺们学了这么久的英语，却总不能用很简单的词去表达内容与情感，是否俺们的内容与情感太复杂了，需要复杂的词汇才能表达。学与用，总处在一种脱节的状态。唉，越学越没有信心了。
