hi, Mans,
Just discuss it! it is a good topic. DOn't fight against each other.
hueofwind, if you want to stay in China for quite long time after you get citizenship, you don't have to do complicated option1 and option 2.
All you need to do is going back to china before your PR expires after you get citizenship. Getting citizenship does't mean you have to surrender your Chinese Passport. Then, you can do whatever you want in China.
If you want to go overseas after that (expecially Australia), you must choose one transit contry, which means you have four times entry-exit records in this country. Acutally, you got the point. The current problem is which coutry is best transit country. I suggest HOngKOng cause Kongkong recogize dual-citizenship and Singapore don't just for sake of double safety.
Actually, according to my expreince, they don't check if there is entry or exit stamp in your passport. What they must check and make sure is you must hold valid visa or legal right to final destinaiton, for example, if you want to go to Australia, you must have valid visa or Australian citizen. That's it.
As matter of fact, even when you are back to china. Customs don't check entry=exit stamps. They check if your chinese passpord is authentic and you have valid visa from outbound country. Your entry-exit record will be stored in the systme by scanner.
To be frank, PR or Citizenship is not hard decision.
If you love traveling around world, you need Australian Passport.
If you want to stay in china for a long time and try to find some chances for your career. you better have Australian Passport. This scenario was just dicussed.
If you need to trave frequently between Australia and China, you definitely need to hold a PR.
If you decide to stay in Australia in next 10-15 year and just spend your holiday overseas once per year or once per two years. you better hold your PR status because if you become Australian citizen, you will never get PR.
Just in case you want to stay in China after decades. |
