澳洲 PayPal 和 AUSPOST 谁更烂? (声讨 PayPal 续三)

US一卖家寄了个镜头. 当我去邮局领时,发现破包. 一角憋了,包的1/5到1/4范围变形. 我要求当面拆包, 邮局的人同意作证.取出镜头,这卖家更过分,连螺丝都少了一个.我和邮局的人翻遍了内包装,也没找到. 我赶紧检查玻璃,先卸滤镜,宁了半天,弄不下来.玩过哈苏的都知道screw-in,这家伙是直上直下, 定睛一看, 滤镜接口是变型的. 不像是摔的. 很可能是 pre-exist. 当然我不能对邮局说这. 接下来检 查前片, 有一coating defect, size 4mm x 1mm, and a couple of pin-head dots (both permanent). 很少见, 长方形的. 后组有 clean marks (removable, so I don't care). 螺丝不是大事, 但样子非常难看, 金属片上翻, 镜筒上像开了个口子. 内有一张便条, 留言给我, 那纸条有干了的水渍痕迹. 我立刻眼睛一亮. 我当时非常清楚我是坚定站在卖家一边的, 尽管我高度怀疑卖家诚信. 我马上叫邮局的人取证, 我要拍照 (我有破包的经验, 邮局拒保). 邮局的人闪开了, 她不愿被拍. 我叫来3个staff, took down their name and staff number. They all agreed to work as my witness. I refused to take the lens back hom and left it in local post office and lodged a claim on site.
I informed the seller through ebay message system without delay, and lodged a claim at Paypal. After that, it was long long time to wait. No response from post office, nor from Paypal. I called post office to follow up my claim everyday, but Auspost seems a top gun (太极高手) too. Auspost told that waiting period was at least 60 days.
Everyone knows that Paypal's claim period is 45 days. Please tell me what should I do in this situation. I sent email to Paypal and told them the feedback from Auspost. I particularly reminded Paypal of my past experience, Aupost denied claim. No response!
A month later, the seller (don't know who advised the seller) suddenly sent me a form, authorizing me to claim insurance. I didn't know it was a TRAP! I signed it. It seems that Paypal got a good solution at last minute. Paypal immediately made its decision without any discussing with me. Not in favour of me, because I can claim insurance from Auspost. Even Paypal was not aware of the fact that the seller only partially insuranced, only $800, not full amount! That is our Paypal who is making decision even without diligence check.
I had no other choice, because there was no appeal process at that time. It is a final decision. I contacted US ebay through on-line chat. US Ebay staff sounds like more professional than Aussie colleague. She comforted me by telling me the seller's record was sound and he was willing to make up for the gap. Of cource he was happy with the price of $800, because I resold it back to US at only $570 when I disclose defects in ambiguous way.
Finally, I got a letter from AUPOST, saying my insurance claim was rejected!
I scanned the letter and sent to Paypal. I requested Paypal to make compensation. You can imagine what result.

我只能赤博上阵了. 连夜写了一封错词强烈的信, 寄给AUPOST. 质问他有没有注意到箱子WET了, 知道不知道wet carton and 箱子强度的关系 (AUPOST said the package material is not suitable for international transportaion according to AUPOST ,,,,) 我问他AUPOST的 international transportaion 有没有规定 international parcel要穿雨衣? 问他有没有看到有水渍的纸条? 我进一步索要AUPOST的注册地, ABN number. 我要起诉AUPOST (我是吓呼他的).
第二天晚上, 我正在吃晚饭. 我意外收到一个电话从QLD打来的. 我正纳闷, 对方上来就道歉. 原来是AUPOST的manger打来的.
$800 支票第二天就会到. 我要书面道歉. Manager 陪了一堆不是, 说那staff will be fired if I insisted on the written apology.
总算拿到钱了. 我想起来, 我请seller 代买了一个镜盖, 还没付钱. 我打电话给那staff, 那家伙一听是我,话音都颤了 (他以为我不放过他). 我说我要拿回镜盖, 我还解释镜盖为何不在$800之内. 这回他活过来了, 激动地说, "all carton is yours, everything!". I can't believe it. Double confirm with him, "I can get both lens and the check???".
"yes', "I released the parcel to you according to the letter enclosed the check." he confirmed again.
我最后拿回了白送的lens. I sold the lens (at $570 only on ebay) to an ebay friend in US who taught me how to exam a lens, how to identify problems. He is a repairman of camera in US.
