I was very happy to know there are some other Chinese interested or even very experienced in this sport living in Melbourne
As I had never flown with any other Chinese since I started last Xmas, and to my knowledge, there’s no other Chinese actively flying in this community in Melbourne.
So sometimes I felt a little bit lonely.
If anyone likes to know more about this sport and how it works in Au or more precisely in Melbourne.
I am more than happy to help.:)
Just wanna give a little bit heads up about the cost if anyone likes to know before committed to any decision.
First of all, I have to point out paragliding is totally different from skydiving or parasailing, it’s not an ‘extreme’ sport as the majority of the public would think before any further research.
It needs a lot of knowledge, practice, cooperation, patience, wise judgement and patience again.
The data below applies only to a novice(beginner) wants to learn and fly in Melbourne:
The starting cost is about $7000-$9000, inc: new beginner gear, license course, related accommodation, national and local association and club annual fee, if you buy second hand gear, will lower to 5000-7000.
After you got your license, the cost will be the petrol, food, accom for every flight, says 50-300, location and weather dependent.
This is the cost. Please don’t get scared by the number if you felt uncomfortable.
Generally people would like to try a tandem flight before they decide to do it or not, which would cost around $200-400 inc transport
I can’t describe the feeling when you tasted your first flight and afterward, you have to experience it yourself, in a word, it’s totally beyond description.
Anyway, this is the sport inherent with danger, please consider it and take your own responsibility for your own safety.
If you are still interested, you can contact me via the message function here.
Cheers. |
