I was excited about getting this blender because it pretty much can do anything... or claims it can.
Everything about this blender is awesome but unfortunately hasn't been engineered properly, AT ALL.
The blender is undeniably DAMN powerful... probably the most powerful on the market at the moment. So as a result, there is a ton of vibration during use.
The base that the jug sits on is rubber coated I assumed. During use the jug vigorously rubs against the base and damages the rubber coating, leaving behind a mess of rubber particles. Why th ey used a huge rubber base instead of a metal to metal connection is beyond me, considering the sheer power of the blender.
And don't even think of using the soup program... because it is sheer insanity! It's pretty much 6 minutes of the blender going full blast (noisy as hell btw) at 50000 rpm it felt like. The vibration rubs all the rubber coating off the base, and the blade bearings of the jug overheats and fails, making a terribly deadly grinding sound. I had to stop it halfway through the program.
The soup I was making started to leak through the bottom of the jug where the bearing was, and I had to throw it away because the soup was probably contaminated with bearing grease or something. I followed all the instructions to a tee, and it failed miserably.
I thought maybe my model was defective, so got a replacement. But still, the rubber rubbing happened again on the first use! Eventually, I got fed up with rubber particles going everywhere, and the fact that I couldn't use the soup function, which was one of the main reasons I bought it. An expensive, top of the line, flagship product like shouldn't damage itself upon using it once. Luckily, the place I bought it at granted me a full refund.
This is a shame, because I really wanted to love this blender. But the poor design of the base and bearings let it down. For something that costs this much, I would expect the base to be a solid metal to metal contact, the bearings to be solid metal to metal contact (not half rubber, half metal) and the bearings to be able to handle at least 3 times the heat and speed of what the motor can dish out. If they can manage this, then this blender will be perfect.
