Ref. #35 Don't worry. You and your partner are very sensible, try natural first and only resort to caesarean if the progress of the labour indicates so. This is because natural birth is the best.
Medicine is so advance now and has made childbirth very safe. These days, a lot of women establish their careers first and leave childbirth till late thirties and even early forties - very common in Australia.
Just be sure you go for the amnio-centesis test to rule out any birth-defects. I personally will not take any chances and will not want to raise a child with congenital disorders. I will definitely abort if the result of the test is bad. Because of the availability of these kind of screening, these days, as an example, there are more down syndrome babies born to younger women because they did not go for the test. I am sure most if not all of you ladies and gents out there are aware of this, but I think it is important enough for me to want to write this here
During my labour, I refuse all painkillers at first for fear of slowing down the birth and also not to harm my baby. Anyway, after 6 hours, I was crying and begging for help. I was talking rubbish like I don't want to play anymore, I want to quit, I just want to go home etc... When I got my epidural injection, all the pain just vanish - it was God sent. Everything was fine after that. Best of luck. |
