我选择支持的慈善机构是Giant Steps, 这是一间为自闭症儿童以及青少年设立的学校。
曾经有去参观，这间学校的员工和学生比例很高（所以需要的资源也很多）， 一个大概5个学生左右的班级，就有至少两名工作人员。 老师们不单单是要去教他们知识， 更重要的是让他们学习如果和他人相处，可以帮助孩子们最终能够更好地融入社会。

可能我们平时很少去想到这些人群， 然而他们真真切切的就在那里。
也许会觉得我们个人的能力很有限， 但每个人的任何帮助，都会是他们所需要的。

Dear Friends and Family,
I am running in the City2Surf this year in support of a charity called Giant Steps.
Giant Steps offers a range of services to help support children and young adults with autism including a school from preschool through to Year 12. Giant Steps accepts children from all over Sydney, is non-denominational and does not charge any fees. If they did charge fees it would cost about $80,000 per student per year! Their fundraising goal for 2015 is $4,000,000. Every dollar counts and no amount is too small to make a difference.
The money raised from the City2Surf will go towards speech, music and occupational therapies for the students there. These therapies are crucial to enhancing the skill set and quality of life of the students and their families – for example: speech therapy can teach a non-verbal child how to communicate using pictures or signs so that their frustration in communication is alleviated.
