Queensland becomes latest state to close borders amid COVID-19 pandemic
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced the state will close its borders to limit the spread of coronavirus.
Anyone entering Queensland from the air or by road will be forced to isolate themselves for 14 days from Wednesday night.
The state is closing its borders in a bid to stop COVID-19 in its tracks after a jump of 60 more cases were confirmed on Monday.
Finer details of the border closure will be finalised and released on Tuesday.

Western Australia’s borders to close as virus cases jump again
The West Australian border will be closed in coming days and Rottnest Island may be turned into a COVID-19 quarantine zone, Premier Mark McGowan has announced.
Mr McGowan said entry to WA would be restricted via road, rail, air and sea from 1.30pm on Tuesday, with exemptions for essential services and trucking.
“These are extreme steps but these are extreme days,” he told reporters on Sunday, as 30 new cases were confirmed overnight, bringing the state’s total to 120.

Coronavirus causes temporary closure of South Australian borders
South Australia will temporarily close its borders to all visitors to slow the spread of coronavirus.
It is the third state to do so, after the Northern Territory and Tasmania both suspended travellers from arriving.
State Premier Steven Marshall told reporters a recent surge in cases brought from interstate had forced the decision.

NT closes its borders: Everyone who enters forced to quarantine
THE Territory is shutting its borders next week, forcing all who arrive to be quarantined for 14 days amid fears of spreading coronavirus.
From 4pm on Tuesday March 24, anyone arriving in the Northern Territory will be forced to quarantine for two weeks.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner said the strict border controls were for all access points to the NT: roads, airports, train stations, ports and airports.
“Whether you are local or not, this applies to you,” Mr Gunner said.

Tasmania to enforce 'toughest border measures in the country' amid coronavirus pandemic
Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein says the state will introduce the "toughest border measures in the country" to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
From midnight on Friday, all "non-essential" travellers into the state will have to go into 14 days' quarantine, he said.
Mr Gutwein said "essential" travellers included people required to keep the state's health system and trade operational.
All others, including returning Tasmanians, will be required to go into quarantine.
