You are not the only one who has that feeling. Normally when I have a day off, I know that I would not get a lot of things done.

Not only that, for me when I have a day off I realise I will eat more. I guess that is due to I don't have a routine when I am having a day off which makes me work harder

As a result I will eat more but who cares that anyway.

I hope Floraz will be ok today. Her workholic boss will be taking her mat leave this week. Have a good night all!

I didn't see The Artist so don't know how good it is. I hope it didn't win Oscar award just because it's a silent movie produced in black and white.

I haven't watched that yet.I know it’s a stroy about love of an actor and a dancer. Something blocked them from becoming a couple,such as the reputation,money and self-esteem.
Maybe that's a romantic story and worth watching.

most of the oscar winning pictures is too serious to me.
too much drama, and really drawn my energy to watch.
I rather watch the more entertaining ones...

I feel for you! Why they do this often! I bought the DVDs for season 1 and 2 and it felt great to watch nonstop whenever I want. For all the sitcoms I love, I collect them. But not many, because they have to be something I really really love, such as Sex and The City, both sitcom and movies; Friends of course; Will and Grace; Vampire Diaries is my latest one.

But I guess it is worth the waiting. Love how the story develops and never get bored. And all the pretty boys and girls, aren't they treats for sore eyes!  I really hope it can go a long way. By the way, which Salvatore brother you like better?( I assumed you are a gal as well， if not, call me silly.hehe).

I think I have similar taste for movies as yours and I like both I Am Legend and Forrest Gump too.
I have to admit I didn't appreciate I Am Legend initially at which time I haven't seen the movie and all I heard was people talking about it being a thriller. On one hand, not being a fan for horror movies, I would normally avoid such type but on the other hand my curiosity pushed me to try it because Will Smith was and still is one of my favourite actors. So I ended up watching the movie on TV at a friend's house holding a pillowing in my hands to cover my eyes just in case. Lucky I didn't see it in the cinema because I did get frightened when the zombies jumped out all of a sudden. However I enjoyed the movie very much.
Will Smith showed his fine acting again and I was in tears when I saw he was forced to kill his only companion, his German Shepherd. I felt the outrage and grief.
Of course like most Hollywood movies, at the end the sky cleared after the storm.

For those who have seen Forrest Gump, I bet no one will forget those classic quotes:
"Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
"You have to do the best with what God gave you."
and "I gotta find Bubba!" - Forrest's unique persistence and perserverence.
I think it's such a great movie which told the life's deep truth in a simple and funny way.

What else movie have you guys seen?

My all time favorite movie is 'top gun'  able to follow up every line in the movie...
'Bicentennial Man ' Robin Williams love it , because exploring the humanity so beautifully.
'Hitch' smart and witty comedy, and slick will Smith

I usually find it amazing that some people can have such similiar favors in movies, books, or fashion. I do not like horror movies ever! I would never be persuaded to watch any of the SAW series or SCREAM series. I mean, why would we want to bring scare and misery into our lives when we do everything to make it more beautiful everyday at the same time. Some of the horror movies can be so depressing.

Yet some friends Loooooooooooove horror movies. They find it exciting and challenging, the exact words they used when I asked why they enjoy these movies so much. Chanlleging would only mean chanllenging my nerves to me.

So I guess it is like food choice, people do have very different favors in these things. That is why they make so many different ones. As long as they do their jobs entertaining people, they are good enought.

One of my favorite movies is shan zha shu zhi lian directed by Zhang yimou. It is a faily recent movie. I saw it two years ago.


I remebered that I watched it in the cinema with my wife and my mother-in-law last time when I went back to China.

It is a sad love story. I like it because it is a such pure movie. It even has no kiss scenes in the movie for a love story. Is that for real these days?

The young actress Zhou dong yu's performence is outstanding. The other young actor (I forget his name)is not bad either. I enjoyed it when I watched it.


After the movie, I could easily tell my mother-in-law must have cried during the movie. I guess she must have recalled something when she was young.

Now we seem to live in a society where people judge your success based on how much money you make. We have been exposed to so much negativity in the news these days such as yan zhao men, guo mei mei ; wo ba shi li gang etc. It reminds me of that song "where is the love" by Black eyed peas. I think the lyrics of that song say it all.


This movie really brings a breath of fresh air to this material world and makes people think what a real love/ideal love should be. I like it!


Have you guys seen it? If you have not, I highly recommend it and probably you should take your parents with you when you decide to watch it. They may also enjoy it. Have a good day all!

Haven't seen that one. Heard a lot about it though. Did not really fancy Zhang Yi Mou's movies. Reason being that I do not really like his style. This is just my personal opinion la, hoping this doesn't offend anyone's feeling here la. It is the same that I will always pick FuJian noodle over sushi.hehe.

I find in his movies(I have not seen many so my opinion may be only partial), stories develos really slowly and plotting sometimes not solid enough logically. I feel the same way about a lot of other Chinese movies. I think the system needs to be improved to encourage new generation of directors to play on this stage.They are the ones that can really stretch and loosen up and therefore bring us good productions.

Good news is I think we do a lot better, actually excellent work in TV shows. There are so many I love watching, such as Qian Fu, Hun Yin Bao Wei Zhan, Nan Ren Bang, Luo Hun Shi Dai and many others. Why can not they do the same with movies? I think Chinese movies have a long way to go. Meantime, I do think some of the Hong Kong movies are really worth watching.

Another good news is government is bringing in 14 more Hollywood movies each year. This will for sure introduce competition in Chinese movie industry. Hopefully we will have some really good movies made by ourselves COMING SOON.

The thought just crossed my mind. Since we have a lot of movie lovers here, why don't we have a movie club for ourselves. I do not know where everyone lives, but if possible, we can always get together to watch a movie together or gather together at someone's home to re-watch something. Of course afterwords we can always have a bit chat over drinks or dinner about the movie or many other topics other than movies,haha. It will be a good social event from time to time for us. I am in Melbourne. Anyone up for this?

This time I am truly sick. I felt so great yesterday going to work for the moring, having a meeting in the afternoon, shopping a bit afterwards and then even cooked dinner!

Then, I got sick. I think I overdrew and exauhsted myself and it was cold yesterday as well'!

After dinner, I started feeling headache which still hasn't goine away yet. My hubby woke up midnight,massaging my head to make me sleep better. It did work. I don't know it was the massage or his hand coving my head most of the night keeping my head warm, I fell in sleep quick and felt a lot better in the moring. Well, better enogh to make him breakfast and then lie down to rest.

I now think about younger days we had. This would be like nothing to us. I remember returning back to campus after holiday. I could play 2 hours tennis right after I got off the 20 hours train and felt nothing. We could also club till midnight after a whole day hard work and felt great!

And now, we are tired only after 100 balls on drive range. Not mentioning clubbing late. 3 years ago I still regularly went out with friends for drinks in bars after work, went to bed midnight and went to work usual time next day. Now I persuaded myself to cut back from too much consuming my body and practice Zen. Some friends say I got wiser. I just think I got older. haha.

I will move to OZ from China soon .I am worried about the life there including language,study and job etc.However it can not my step to settle down in Sydney,hahaha

A life-changing step! It takes courage but you will find it all rewarding! Life in Australia is different from it in China. A bit quiet but so much more to explore. Don't worry about study and job here. After you take that first step, you will find the road for everything. And in a while, you will settle down with  good routines of study, work and life. Things will be a lot easier after you set up your own lifestyle with some good friends. I don't know about others, I never regret about coming here. My life is enriched and I find peace and happniess here.

Welcome again! Hope everthing works out really well for you here! I am sure it will!

Thanks to your encouragement.I know it's much easier talking than doing.Althougt I seem to prepare well enough for the coming change,it still have difficlties in the progrees unavoidable.But I am a mother of 9month baby,who will give me power to keep going!heehee THANKS AGAIN!

Hi, folks it is Monday again. How was your weekend?

I trust you all have had a good weekend.

For me, Saturday is a disgrace cause it was raining all day long. You cannot do anything when it is wet, can you?

Yesterday was a glorious day. Wheather-wise, it was not too hot not too cold, just perfeeeect.

My wife and I went to catch up with some friends from Zuji. We had zha jiang mian for lunch at friends' place. It was really nice and authentic. We all loved it. My daughter Momo made new friends. She was also excited yesterday and I guess she was too excited and did a big poo at their place. We were a bit embarrassed by that.

But what can you do? Kids are kids; they are not going to be acting as adults. If they do I guess you will freak out as parents.

Anyway folks have a good week ahead! Enjoy yourself whatever you do!
