Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your e-mail.
I can confirm that your application has been received by the Perth
Offshore Parents Centre (POPC). The application was received on
06 September 2007.
For Contributory Parent visa categories (subclasses CA-143 and UT-173),
it is taking approximately 12-14 months from lodgement date until the
case is allocated to a case officer. Your application is registered and
awaiting allocation to a case officer. We are currently processing
applications that we received up to 1st September 2007 for allocation to
case officers.
Once an application is acknowledged you will generally receive no
further communication until the case is allocated to a case officer.
Once your case is allocated to a Case Officer, they will make an
assessment of the application and request outstanding documents such as
a police clearance certificate.
It is a policy that POPC normally will not respond to request for an
update of an application or the receipt of documents. The reason behind
this is the volume of applications and the amount of time required to
respond to such a request.
If you have a further query, we recommend that you use the
parents@immi.gov.au e-mail box. This allows the POPC to answer your
e-mail if your contact or case officer in POPC is absent.
Kind regards
Shona Wild
