楼主，不要用。你去网上查一下。美国那边已经禁止卖了。成分可能会引起前列腺疾病或致癌。

我本来想自己用来着的。一般习惯去amazon查一下点评。不看不知道，吓一跳。

Would you please advise me if there are any ill effects from using Restoria hair cream, which contains lead acetate & sulphur ammonium chloride.

My wife says that it not only affects my hair but is absorbed into my bloodstream and could cause long term side effects. is this true?

Dear Sir,

There could be long term side effects if lead is absorbed into your system from hair colouring agents such as Restoria, Grecian 2000 or Never Gray. Although there is no heading saying "WARNING on the "Never Gray" bottle it says: "Do not use on broken skin, wash hands thoroughly after use." To my mind these statements should be made under the heading "Directions" where the text is written nearly twice as large as the "warning". I think that the chances of people who are using this product having such perfect eyesight that they read unlabelled tiny warnings is small and thus the chances of the product being used on broken skin and remaining on hands and possibly being ingested (and being spread to taps which children might use etc), is quite high. Thus I would advise that any person using such a product can only know whether it is causing them to be lead poisoned by having a blood lead test. The GP can organise a blood lead test for you  and would be followed up by an investigation by the Health Department of the sources of lead in your  home.

Please let me know your blood lead level - I'm very interested.

QUESTION: Could using Discreet Hair colour restorer be responsible for a metallic sensation in my mouth? 24/01/11 New South Wales, Australia

I recently began using Discreet Hair colour restorer.  After about five days I developed what I would describe as a metallic sensation in my mouth, I would say it is not unlike inhaling sulphur fumes, it is very unpleasant. I strongly believe that it is the Discreet causing the problem. Can someone enlighten me?

I found a photo online of a box of Restoria Discreet Colour Restoring Cream and it clearly says on the box: "CONTAINS: LEAD ACETATE 5 mg/g" [source: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayIS ... p;item=120672759041 ]

If you want to eliminate lead exposure (and who doesn't?) I would recommend that you stop using the product. If you are concerned that the metallic sensation (taste?) in the mouth is due to the lead exposure from this product, you should also ask the doctor for a blood lead test.

I'm happy to comment on what the result means (and suggest further steps if warranted).
