Job Notes:
· Applicants will need to have proficiency in a community language other than English
· Applicants will need to hold a current drivers’ licence with a clear record for the past 12 months and be willing to travel.

Responsibilities
The Multicultural Community Liaison Officer Program is designed to develop and maintain close police-community relationships in order to facilitate enhanced service provision by police to the diverse communities of NSW including crime prevention and crime reduction.
In this context, the Multicultural Specialist Field Officers (MCLO) are responsible for supporting Local Area and Specialist Commands across NSW to develop and implement strategies to engage and work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

Selection Criteria
The following selection criteria form a specific part of the selection process. Applicants must demonstrate how they meet each of the criteria by providing responses in the Application Form tab.
· Understanding of the nature of policing in NSW and contemporary issues that impact on the relationship between police and diverse cultural, religious and linguistic communities.
· Applied understanding of the NSW Government Multicultural Policies and Services Program and demonstrated experience working across a broad range of cultural, language and religious groups to achieve its aims.
· Capacity to think strategically, analyse issues and respond appropriately to organisational needs.
· Well developed verbal and written communication skills.
· Time Management and organisation skills to meet strict deadlines with an ability to identify and negotiate competing interests.
· Ability to research, consultation and project management skills.
· Proficiency in a community language other than English.
· Current drivers’ licence with a clear record for the past 12 months and willingness to travel.
· Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
