2023 (three deaths) — South Australian waters had an unusually high number of fatal shark incidents in 2023, with three surfers killed in separate attacks near:
May 2023 – Surfing off Elliston (Yorke Peninsula/Eyre Peninsula) — a surfer was fatally attacked. �

October 2023 – A 55-year-old surfer near Granites Beach (west coast) was killed. �

December 28, 2023 – A 15-year-old boy was killed at Ethel Beach, Innes National Park area on Yorke Peninsula. �
