When consider the risk fow Down's syndrome, you should not only look at the number (risk higher than 1:300 is considered as high risk), but also compare the test result to your age related risk.
For example:
Report: TRISOMY 21 RISK is 1 in 279 and T21 Age risk: 1 in 45
In this case, the test showed high risk (1:279, higher than 1:300), but it is significant lower than age related risk (1:45, mother 42 year old) , it is still a good result as it is 6 times lower than the age risk. |
