RENEW的手续简单，办新的护照的手续复杂。

我记得澳洲护照到期后1年之内都算renew.

You are eligible for the streamlined renewal process if you are an Australian citizen aged 18 years or older, and you have and can present your most recent Australian passport that:

was issued when you were 16 years of age or older, and
was valid for at least two years when issued, and
was issued in your current name, date of birth, place of birth and sex, and
is current or expired less than three years ago, and
was not cancelled (for example, was not reported lost or stolen).
