my personal experience is that you can open a join account for Telenet. But in order to activate this join name Telenet account, you need to have another join account to which your Telenet is linked. I applied for a instant saver account for join name as well with Bankwest. They told me that if one of the account holder is from overseas, the withhold rate for tax purpose will be 10%.
