以下是无意中在网上找到的。只限悉尼。墨尔本的原形TheLab已经开办两年了,据说十分成功。这个对Aspergers或HFA的小朋友来说,是个很好的机会,将会有大学里的IT专家一对一的指导。

KIDS WITH ASPERGER’S AND HIGH FUNCTIONING AUTISM INCREASE SKILLS THROUGH INVOLVEMENT IN INNOVATIVE COMPUTER CLUB
Following the successful Melbourne based The Lab project for Kids with Asperger’s, Just Better Care Community Services (JBCCS), a not for profit organisation, is starting up a Sydney pilot project, The Lab Hornsby and are looking for young people to participate in this project.
Focusing on the natural strengths these children have, The Lab will cater for local young people aged 10 to 16 years with Asperger's Syndrome or high functioning autism who have an interest in computers. Computer programmers and designers will mentor and work with the participants on a one-to-one basis in areas such as programming, 3D digital design and gaming.
JBCCS is looking for young people aged 10-16 years with Asperger’s or high functioning Autism, who have an interest in gaming to participate in The Lab.
JBCCS will hold two open days so people can learn more about the project:
When: 6th October, 9.30am – 11.30am and 7th October, 1.00pm – 3.00pm
Where: Hornsby RSL Club
Places are limited
To register interest in the open day, please email julia.deberg@justbettercare.org.au
The Lab Hornsby is based on a similar project running in West Melbourne through the University of Victoria and the Young & Well Cooperative Research Centre, www.thelab.org.au. The evaluation of the project in Melbourne has revealed positive improvements in participants’ self esteem, socialisation skills and technical skills. The sense of connection within the group has been amazing.
Running concurrently with The Lab will be a parent support group, which will meet separately but at the same time and in the same venue. When the parent group in Melbourne were asked what s the best thing about being involved with The Lab, they replied “we drop them off happy and pick them up happy”. For parents of children who suffer from high anxiety levels this is a huge tick.
Julia de Berg, the The Lab Hornsby project manager, said “The participants in Melbourne are all keen players of games such as Minecraft® and Pokemon® and with the help of the tech professionals they are now learning skills in animation, design and programming. Mastering these skills has increased their confidence and self esteem and being part of a group has had benefits in developing their social skills.”
Once established, The Lab will run each Saturday during term time at the Hornsby RSL starting on 13th October 2012. To find out more, please contact: Julia de Berg, The Lab Sydney Project Manager,
julia.deberg@justbettercare.org.au or phone 9934 9934.
