Nokia法国公司总经理称明年6月会推出基于Windows 8的平板,但是Nokia总部和Microsoft都拒绝证实

NOKIA is set to give its rivals a run for their money as it prepares to enter the tablet market.
The Finnish mobile phone company is planning to release a Windows 8 tablet - the first of its kind - next year, according to French newspaper Les Echos.
Director general of Nokia France Paul Amsellem let slip that by "June 2012, we will have a tablet running on Windows 8".
Nokia will join forces with Microsoft in the hopes the tablet will help the company recover the losses it forfeited to other smartphone manufacturers.
Its share of the smartphone market fell to 16.5 per cent in the third quarter of last year from 36.3 per cent in 2009, according to a Gartner study.
Nokia smartphones continue to outsell Apple however, outstripping iPhone sales by more than 88 per cent in the third quarter of last year.
The company’s real concern is its rival - Android.
Android has been leaving Nokia in the dust on the smartphone market (selling more than 60 million smartphones in the third quarter of last year), but the picture isn’t quite as clear when it comes to tablet sales.
Google’s CEO Larry Page claims the company has activated more than 130 million Android devices. Experts have estimated tablets only make up about 1.7 million of that figure.
Nokia could have a real presence on the tablet market if it can eat into Android’s relatively weak share.
Being the first to get the well-received Windows 8 tablet OS to market would at the very least generate a lot of interest for the device.
Both Nokia and Microsoft are keeping mum about any plans to release a tablet. A spokeswoman for Nokia said Mr Amsellem’s remarks “were taken out of context”.
“A simple example was taken to mean more than intended," she said.
"Nokia do not comment on speculation or rumours and at the moment we are all concentrating on the Lumia 800 which went on sale this week."
Microsoft has not confirmed when Windows 8 will be released, but it is expected to launch next year.
