Lakes Entrance: Fishing has been spasmodic, with some “Pinkies” and the “odd Flathead caught in Rigby Channel. The jetties are still producing Trevally. Best bait is peeled prawn and pilchard.
Lake Tyers: Keepers Bait & Tackle - Lake Tyers Beach Flathead are taking soft plastics in Toorloo Arm. The main lake has Leatherjacket, Tailor and a few Bream biting on prawn and silver lures.
Mitchell River: Wy Yung Bridge is the place for Estuary perch, using “Diving” lures. “Grassy Banks” has Bream taking prawn, crab and “vibes”.
Tambo River: Bream fishing is still excellent throughout the system. Most baits are producing good results.
Nicholson: Bream are biting between the two Bridges on prawn, shrimp and crab. A few Flathead have been caught on soft plastics.
Paynesville: Baitshack Report: Bream and Trevally in Newlands Arm, taking prawns and yabbies. Also a few bream around the Island Jetties. Good schools of mullet from Progress Jetty, taking worms. The surf has been very productive over the last week with large salmon, plenty of gummies, a few 7 gill shark and even a bronze whaler landed off the beach at Steamer Landing.
Hollands Landing: Good size Bream have been landed off the jetty and Toms Creek. Best bait is prawn and sandworm.
Marlo:The Snowy is clearing after the rain and the Platforms make good fishing spots. Bream, luderick and Estuary Perch are biting on black crab, prawn and sandworm. Large Trevally have also been taken on prawn and whitebait. The surf beaches are producing Salmon, Tailor, Mullet, Flathead and Shark on lures and bait.
Bemm River: Water levels are high and patient fishing has been required for large Bream and Tailor in the Channel. Best bait is prawn and silver lures.
Mallacoota: Luderick are still biting at Captains Point. Flathead are “on the go” using plastic lures and prawn. A few large Bream have been landed in the Top Lake, with Trevally in “The Narrows”. |
