Why? Why you want to change to CA? I am qualified CPA, finished and qualified in 2009. Now I am doing my 3rd Module in CA, No exemption, need at least 2 year practical work experience.
Personal I think CPA develop your skills in all facets, from strategic thinking, leadership, governance, ethical issue - business and management orientation, to technical knowledge and your special technical interest.
CA develops candidates technical capability and problem sovling skills.
It depends which skill set you want to obtain.
From long term point of view, the skills set which CPA helps to develop with can certainly help you to look at the things and situation in the corpration from different angles and in the bigger picture. Whether you can go through the hurdle in your work place, it does not depend on how good you are with your work, or how much you know about your work, it depends on how you think and deal with the work, especially people. Your manager can get anyone to do the same job, you will realise you have nothing special, the technical capability or knowledge can no longer make you outstanding or special, it is other skill set makes you standing out of the crowd. Hope this makes sense. |
