今年税单中一项medicare levy不明白？我非澳洲居民和永居以前税单没这项，是457工作鉴证看病买药都是自己为什么征收这项费入用

Exemption categories
You were in an exemption category if:

1.
you were a blind pensioner or you received the sickness allowance from Centrelink

2.
you were entitled to full free medical treatment for all conditions under defence force arrangements or Veterans' Affairs Repatriation health card (Gold Card) or repatriation arrangements

3.
you were not an Australian resident for tax purposes

4.
you were a resident of Norfolk Island

5.
you were a member of a diplomatic mission or consular post in Australia – or a member of such a person's family and you were living with them – and you were not an Australian citizen and you do not ordinarily live in Australia, or

6.
you have a certificate from the Medicare Levy Exemption Certification Unit of Medicare Australia showing that you are not entitled to Medicare benefits because you were a temporary resident for Medicare purposes. A letter from Medicare is not sufficient. 前几年税单没这项，不是澳洲居民

你需要申请这一项的免除，从medicare网站下载相应表格填写后，寄到塔斯马尼亚，他们会寄回一封同意免除这一项税务的信，你自己保留就行。

我也没medicare，但是我当时etax里跟着它的指引step by step，是给我免除了meidcare levy啊。
不过当时做的很糊涂，是怎么做的我忘记了。

medi levy只要你年收入超过1XXXX都要交的，taxable income的1.5%用ETAX的话它是自动就算了的，medi levy surcharge的话就是你年收入加上reportable fringe benefit到70k而且没有private medi insurance的话就要交,1%

不好意义，帮你完整一下哦。

你的taxable income在$17309-$20363之间， 计算公式是:假设你的收入是a (a-$17309)*10%
如果你的taxabel income超过$20364 计算公式是:假设你的收入是b  b*1.5%

我之前上学打工的时候也被扣过, 后来找会计师退税就给免掉了.  如果没有medicare的话, 是不需要交这笔钱的.

虽然是这样，但是也是需要申请medicare levy exception

要先向medicare申请medicare levy exemption.去他网站下载Application for Certification for Medicare Levy exemption purposes,填好表准备好资料交去ATO,6-8星期就能退回了。我bf也是工作签证，前2年因为不懂也是扣了medicare levy，然后今年就申请了exemption就把前2年的给退回来了。
