What will you be doing?
Be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of assembly processes in manufacturing - supporting existing products and the introduction of new products.
As a key member of the team, you must be able to:
Design and document best practice manufacturing processes and systems for new products.
Provide input to Product Development to ensure optimum design for manufacture and design for test.
Investigate and communicate new technologies relevant to process and product development.
Represent Manufacturing at New Product Definition and Review meetings.
Design and source tooling and jigs to facilitate the smooth operation of the department.
Ensure manufacturing engineering activities follow continuous improvement practices (simplification, 5 minute workstation, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, one piece flow, FIFO)
What makes a successful Process Engineer?
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
Knowledge in process design, manufacturing systems, surface mount technology, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing principles and waste elimination
Applied knowledge in process control techniques, work instruction and SOP-writing.
Tool and jig design skills
Experience in a similar role in the electronic industry, preferably in a medium volume flexible manufacturing environment
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Altium, Microsoft Visio and other relevant software applications
