请帮忙解答一下有关Medibank访客医疗保险问题

想给探亲父母买Basic Visitors Cover，发现Hospital cover只包括下面内容，是不是其他手术和治疗都不cover？可是下面这些内容看起来不太用得着啊，那不是上这个保险没有太大意义？比如肠胃有些不适，Hospital 也不cover？请大家指教，谢谢

What's covered?
Injuries sustained in an Accident
Knee reconstruction surgery and investigations
Shoulder reconstruction surgery and investigations
Surgical extraction of wisdom teeth
Treatment of appendicitis
Removal of tonsils and/or adenoids

What's not covered?
Cardio-thoracic procedures, including open heart and by-pass surgery and invasive cardiac investigations and procedures, such as angiograms, angioplasties and stent insertions.
Cosmetic surgery.

保险只是保未知的意外，你选择的basic cover就跟普通的medicare cover的范围差不多，针对的人群是普通人群，而不是父母这种年纪大的人群。
如果只是普通的肠胃疾病，也不需要住院治疗吧，gp 应该可以开药解决。
建议你给父母买最好买essential cover，这种保险相当于medibank blue ribbon level，gp visitor都可以cover，而且还包括所有的extra cover, 例如检查视力，配眼镜，检查牙齿，洗牙等，虽然贵点，但是cover的范围要大很多，老人的心脑血管疾病万一有什么闪失引起住院治疗都可以cover。
