Hi everybody,
Our company is using MYOB Accounting plus V19 Version, not the multi-currency version.
Recently I experienced a problem about recording USD sales Invoice and USD purchase invoice.
For example, we made USD$1000 sales, GST Free and we received USD$1000 in our USD account.
So what I did is recording sale under service layout, description is like 10 hides @ USD$100 and coding 4-1500 (Sales-Hides USD), amount is $1000 (which is the USD amt). Then when we received money, I apply $1000 to that invoice and deposit to out USD Bank account.
For Purchase, let’s say we made $500 USD Purchase of inventory (GST Free), the payment is made through our USD bank account. I Just simply recording the purchase under service layout, put some description like 100 Hides @ USD$5.00, and coding 5-2200(Purchase- hides USD), then record this bill. Once we made the payment I apply that amount to this bill and again through USD bank account.
My bank reconciliation can be reconciled and match with the closing balance of the bank statement, however, when I run the P&L statement, I realise there is a big problem. As our sales figure is mixed with AUD amt and USD amt and the same as Purchase, where all expense are all in AUD amt, so the whole report is unreadable and does not make sense.
Moreover, I think using service layout also affect the inventory balance and Qty on hand. I am totally stuck on how to fix this problem and how to recording such transaction correctly?
Please Ple~~~~ Helping me.
Thanks in advance.
