Fisherman finds body at Maroubra Beach

Police are trying to identify a man whose body was found floating at the southern end of Maroubra Beach by a rock fisherman.
The decomposed body was found 20 metres from a rock shelf about 2pm yesterday and lifeguards brought it to shore, police said.
Investigators checked whether anyone matching his description had been reported missing, but they have been unable to identify him.

Eastern Beaches Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Leonard James said it was unclear whether the man was also a fisherman.
He said the man was believed to be of Asian background.
