星期六，要给西人讲讲中国文化，不知如何是好。久思得一，欲为之讲解柳宗元的《江雪》，因简陋地翻译如下，望坛子上有高人指教：
江雪
千山鸟飞绝，
万径人踪灭。
孤舟蓑笠翁，
独钓寒江雪。
Snow River
As winging birds over mountains disappear,
With no trace of human kind anywhere,
An old fellow, straw-cloaked, fishing in a lonely boat,
The snow falls silently into the freezing river.
I'd say Snowy River.
I'll give it a silly try:
Across a thousand mountain peaks in sight, there isn't a single bird
Of the ten thousand roads passing by, there is no trace of a single man
Yet here is this lonely boat in the snowy river, an old man in his straw coat
Maybe fishing for fish, or maybe for snow flake. |
