紧急求助：expunging the truth是什么意思？

儿子的作文作业的要求：‘Write a story expunging the truth of the above moral opinion.’查了一下expunging是‘除去，刪去 ’的意思，那这个要求是说写个故事支持提供的观点呢，还是反对这个观点呢？晕，请大家出个主意。非常感谢！

The story topic is to write an explanation or story i think, explaining clearly what the moral opinion (must be above) is. The moral might be 'Think before you do', so you might write a story about it. I'm not entirely sure, so i think you should get multiple opinions before you start writing the story. But this is my way of doing it.

Writing Task
Aristotle -"The hardest victory is over the self." This is a common moral lesson taught by our parents and teachers.

Write a story about an/some animal(s) of your choice, expunging the truth of Aristotle’s above moral opinion.

I would do maybe a group of animals (of your choice) given an impossible task. They at first believe that they only need to achieve a personal best in their training ( for the task ), but soon find out there is much more than that, whilst on their impossible mission. This way the moral can be proved wrong, and you have a fine story written! But this is a layout of the story, so you do not have to use it. If  you want you may though, or you ca nuse it for inspiration or ideas.
