Coalition edges ahead in vote: AEC
THE Coalition has now leapt forward in the two-party-preferred vote, taking over from Labor with a lead of 1531 votes on the Australian Electoral Commission’s latest count.
With nearly 11 million votes counted, the Coalition has seen a massive turnaround on a two-party-preferred basis, following the exclusion of the three left-leaning seats of Batman, Denison and Grayndler this afternoon.
Increasingly, the Coalition appears set to widen the gap between itself and the ALP as the AEC continues to count through the night.
From early this afternoon the Coalition has closed the gap on the Labor party, which stood at 4500 votes at 5pm tonight.
When it became clear it would be a hung parliament, Julia Gillard said that the two-party-preferred vote should decide which party would get the independents' vote.
Labor now sits on 5,339,343 votes and the Coalition on 5,339,839, with 80.53 per cent of the total vote counted.
Eight seats are now excluded from the two-party-preferred vote.
Four are conservative-leaning seats: O'Connor, which is split between a Nationals candidate and a Liberal, and Lyne, New England and Kennedy, which are split between the Nationals and independents Rob Oakeshott, Tony Windsor and Bob Katter.
The other four are left-leaning Melbourne, Batman and Grayndler, where a two-candidate preferred count between Labor and the Greens is underway, and Denison, which is a Labor-independent contest.Votes from all eight electorates will eventually be redistributed to a two-party-preferred count between the ALP and the Coalition.

根据AEC最新统计，联盟党现在在“两党倾向性”投票中已位居前列，领先工党1531票。
已有将近1千1百万选票结束了统计；今天下午除去了3个左倾选区Melbourne,Batman, Denison 和 Grayndler的席位后，联盟党在“两党倾向性”投票中，处境有了大回转；今晚，随着AEC仍在进行统计选票，联盟党选票显现出与工党差距拉大的迹象。
从今天下午起，联盟党缩小了与工党的差距，下午5点时差距为4500票。
目前事实很清楚的证明，有可能出现悬空议会的情况，Julia Gillard说应由在“两党倾向性”投票中领先的一方获得独立议员的支持票。
工党目前拥有五百三十三万九千三百四十三票，联盟党拥有五百三十三万九千八百三十九票，目前已有80.53%的选票统计完毕。
“两党倾向性”投票中，有8个席位排除在外。
其中4个是保守派席位：O'Connor，现将由国家党和自由党议员竞争；以及Lyne，New England 和 Kennedy，其中Kennedy将由国家党议员和独立议员Rob Oakeshott, Tony Windsor 和Bob Katter间展开竞争。

其他4个为左倾的席位Melbourne, Batman 和Grayndler，由工党和绿党候选人竞争，Denison是工党和独立候选人之间的竞争。

因为这8个选区并不是由工党和联盟党竞争，所以在统计全国范围的两党倾向投票率时暂时被排除在外
