大家觉得在澳洲读数学专业的出路怎么样？

小弟原本是做IT的，计划明年长登澳洲，准备先去读一个学位。之所以想起来去读数学，有两个原因。

第一是便宜，大多数大学的数学master课程都是CSP的，而且是CSP里最便宜的那种，一年的学费大概就4，5k AUD。
第二是据说出路比较多，可以做回IT的老本行，可以转向金融方向，去美国读PHD也容易申请奖学金，实在不行还可以去学校做数学老师。

只是不知道澳洲那边的实际情况怎么样，有没有了解行情的前辈能给些意见？谢谢。

i got a maths degree from china and now working as a risk analyst on energy market.
My main focus is market risk management such as extoic derivative valuation etc.
since you get IT background, with a postgraduate math degree, you can apply for quantitative position at banks's trading floor or risk management. if you are interested in statistics, learn some sas programming, then you can find a credit analyst position in commercial banks.

Overall, the position which requires high math and It skills are heavily from the finance industry. Be well prepared, know your interest and do some search in the future position that you are interested, get these work skills ready in the university, I believe the future for you could be very encouraging.

我感觉数学的选择还挺多的，而且你又是IT本行，又有几年工作经验的话，没准还能直接找到工作呢。:)

If you are serious in maths study, I suggest to go to top uviversity in australia.

If you want to be a quant, just do some search to find out whether you really want to be and whether you are qualified to be.

我当然想去top university, 不过本科的学校比较差，non211 79%，G8好像有点难度。
关于quant，我会去做一写调查，谢谢了，很好的建议。

读数学去美国读吧，前两年金融衍生品受大家追捧的时候，华尔街最需要你这样的理科博士，学数学的好像还不是特别冒尖，搞物理化学的好像很厉害。

不知道澳洲这边这个方向怎么样，应该不如美国那么激进。

同意，我们高中两个数学最好的男生，都去了美国。 总觉得澳洲不是真正读书的地方。
