There is Goods & Services Tax (GST), which is excluded from the Total Sales: $1,270,381 (net). In principle, for every $10 in Sales, you collect $11 from the customer and remit the $1 to the Tax Office. Some food are not subject to GST, so not sure how much exactly you should have collected and remitted to the Tax Office for GST. The total Salary & Wages is under the threshold of Payroll Tax in any state in Australia, so you don't need to worry about Payroll Tax. The only other tax (which is for you to concern the most) is the income tax on the net profit of $176,176. For a business of this size, it is common to see a company or a trading trust being setup and the profit to be distributed to you, the owner, as Salary & Wages or Dividends, or Trust Distributions. Then there are many scenarios which can be better dealt with once you have decided the tax structure of the business. So talk to your accountant first. |
