Ray White’s Joe Mavrikos said the $576,000 sale shot $96,000 past the home’s $480,000 reserve, despite another five prospects who indicated they intended to be in the running being scratched.

“The vendors were in tears,” Mr Mavrikos said.

“We really squeezed to get them every last drop.”
