Reporting to the Electronics and Software Manager, the Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, and development of software for new and leading-edge products to the highest professional standard.
This position requires someone who will bring knowledge in embedded systems design and implementation with an interest in operating air conditioners and controllers related to the HVAC industry. It also requires the ability to work with a small team of professional engineers.
You will have a minimum of 2-5 years of embedded software engineering experience, including C/C++ for embedded systems as well as similar programming and instrumentation experience. The ability to schedule tasks and appropriately prioritise work is essential as are relevant qualifications in this field.
Suitably qualified candidates with the following skills and experience should apply:
• Professional Engineer with tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated capabilities in interface design, development & commercialisation.
• Experience in the support of testing and commissioning of new & upgraded systems.
• Experience working with Electronics Engineers to develop, debug and refine prototype hardware.
• Demonstrated experience in developing complex software applications in C for embedded devices & writing technical documentation.
• Understanding of Communications protocols, e.g. Modbus, BACnet, I2C, SPI, MIPI, TCP/IP, RS-485 including using diagnostic tools for troubleshooting.
• Commercial experience with full product development life cycle.
Experience in the following areas is not strictly required but will be highly regarded:
• Experience with implementing RF System including development of troubleshooting tools.
• Development and Commissioning of HVAC or other PLC systems
• Web/Cloud Server Development, Deployment and Maintenance
• Assembler Code for Microcontrollers
• User Interface Design
• Understanding of HVAC BMS installation, preferably with experience in development of BMS compatible products.
