Join faced paced and dynamic Telco and utilise state of the art technology. We design and provide total solutions within a complex hosting environment for Corporate and Government clients whose requirements often involve the full range of internet, networking, operating systems, anti-virus, firewall, data storage and security technology.
Based in the CBD (city-south) this role will be exposed to more technology than in your average operating centre, presenting a terrific opportunity for a knowledge-thirsty and career minded engineer to apply existing skills and also ramp-up IP/IT technical experience in a state-of-the-art environment!
The primary function of this role is to provide 3rd level support to internal and external customers for escalated hosting faults and hosting solutions integration.
You will be an identified expert in at least 2 of the following fields with an Advanced level industry certification, (Networking, Security, Storage, Microsoft Products, Unix/Linux).

The role is a hands-on role within a web hosting data centre where approximately 50% of the time will be building the customer solutions 30% documentation and 20% fault management.
Your responsibilities and background include:
Providing the 2nd and 3rd Level Technical Support to Hosting Level 1 and 2 NOC Engineers, across all of Hosting products (Unix, Microsoft, Networking, Security and Storage)
Provisioning of complex Hosting solutions incorporating (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Servers, and Operating Systems)
Current Certification in at least 2 of the following is MANDATORY Microsoft MCSE 2003 or 2008, Linux Redhat, Sun Solaris, Cisco CCNP or higher, Juniper Routers and or Juniper Firewalls.
Taking ownership of problems escalated to the 2nd and 3rd level technical support, troubleshoot servers, OS or the network : troubleshooting in Windows and/or UNIX environments; systems and network administration: Windows and / or UNIX (either Linux or Sun Solaris), including installations, maintenance of OS, and building Windows 2003/Unix servers; IP Protocols: OSPF,BGP,IP addresses-sub-netting, working with CISCO / Juniper routers and switches; racking and cabling equipment as well as resolving IP & Internet network related issues.
Ensuring that all processes and procedures are followed to the highest professional levels
Initiating corrective action where required within scope of knowledge and authority, or escalate promptly when beyond.
Responding proactively to alarms indicating potential SLA violations
Providing On Call Support as per 24x7 roster for products and services managed by Hosting
Scheduling changes with the customer
Installing and Configure Networking equipment, Servers, Firewalls or the Build Web and Mail Sites.
Be a positive role model for the Intellicentre Level 1 and 2 NOC team and provide them with on the job training (formal) and mentoring
Assistingin documentation development for Hosting Operations
Degree qualified and motivated by a fast-paced, technically demanding and high pressured role, you are comfortable prioritising workloads, enjoy applying your analytical and technical skills to deliver effective resolutions, and are an independent problem solver and self starter.
