medicare可以报销一部分诊金，私保不管
这是因为澳洲法律禁止保险公司向Medicare受益者提供outpatient的赔付。但是有一种情况例外：non-resident可以享受outpatient的赔付，前提是如果你的保险计划也支持赔付outpatient services。比如GU Health就有这项服务：

Your non-resident health plan will cover you for treatment that Medicare would otherwise provide to residents. Depending on your level of cover, and where there is an MBS item number, you will receive up to 100 per cent of the cost of medical services you access both in and outside of hospital, including pathology, x-rays and ultrasounds. You'll also be able to claim for hospital accommodation, theatre fees, intensive care, drugs, dressings and other consumables, prostheses (surgically implanted), diagnostic tests and any additional doctor’s fees when you‘re admitted into hospital. |
